At Solo Golden Batch, we take food safety seriously. We want every customer to have clear, accurate information about the ingredients used in our sweet and savoury bakes before placing an order.

Our products are prepared in small batches and delivered by post. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing, particularly if you have a food allergy, intolerance or specific dietary requirement.

1. Allergen Information

UK food law identifies 14 regulated allergens that must be declared when they are present in food, including when used as ingredients.

These are:

• Cereals containing gluten, including wheat, rye, barley and oats where applicable

• Crustaceans, such as prawns, crabs and lobsters

• Eggs

• Fish

• Lupin

• Milk

• Molluscs, such as mussels and oysters

• Mustard

• Tree nuts, including almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, pistachios and macadamia nuts

• Peanuts

• Sesame seeds

• Soybeans

• Sulphur dioxide and sulphites at concentrations above the applicable legal threshold

Not every allergen is present in every product. The allergens relevant to each bake will depend on its ingredients and preparation.

2. Product Ingredients and Allergen Declarations

We aim to provide accurate ingredient and allergen information for each product offered on our website.

Before ordering, please read the relevant product description and allergen information carefully.

Our recipes and ingredients may change, and we may use different brands or suppliers. Where an ingredient change affects allergen information, the relevant product information will be updated.

Allergen information will be provided before purchase and with the food as required by applicable food information regulations.

If you are unsure whether a product is suitable for you, please contact us before ordering rather than relying on a general product description.

3. Cross-Contamination and Food Preparation

Our bakes are prepared in a food preparation environment where ingredients containing different allergens may be handled.

Although we take appropriate precautions to reduce the risk of cross-contact, we cannot guarantee that every product is completely free from unintended allergen traces unless this has been specifically established.

Cross-contact may occur through shared equipment, utensils, work surfaces, storage areas or handling processes.

Any precautionary statements, such as “may contain”, will be based on the relevant product and an appropriate assessment of cross-contact risk.

If you have a severe food allergy, please contact us before purchasing so that we can provide the relevant information about our ingredients and preparation arrangements.

4. Food Allergies and Intolerances

If you have a diagnosed food allergy, intolerance or other dietary requirement, please check the information provided for the specific product you wish to purchase.

We cannot assume that a product is suitable for a particular allergy simply because that allergen is not listed as an intentional ingredient.

Please contact us before ordering if you need further clarification. We will provide the information available to help you make an informed decision.

We will not describe a product as allergen-free unless we can substantiate that claim.

5. Ingredient and Supplier Changes

We use ingredients sourced from suppliers and may update recipes or change ingredient brands when necessary.

Supplier changes can affect the allergens present in a product. For this reason, customers should check the current allergen information each time they order.

If a change affects the suitability of an order and we cannot fulfil it as agreed, we will contact the customer to discuss the available options.

6. Allergen Information for Postal Orders

All Solo Golden Batch orders are dispatched using Royal Mail.

Relevant ingredient and allergen information will be available before purchase and provided with the food as required.

When your order arrives, please check the product information supplied and contact us if anything is unclear or differs from the information provided when you ordered.

7. Special Dietary Requests

We welcome enquiries about ingredients and dietary requirements. However, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate every request.
